The project
The new five-story building provides the church with a large double-height congregation area, youth halls, and office accommodation spread over three floors. The residential apartments are located across the upper three floors and consist of a mix of one- and two-bedroom units fitted out to a mid-range finish.
The brief
This stunning new BREEAM Very Good development is a hybrid steel and precast concrete structural frame clad predominantly in brickwork with a large surface area of glazing, including feature stain-glass to the front entrance and north lights to the church hall roof, maximising a natural light source into the building. The church has salvaged several materials to be used in the new build, including stained glass porthole windows, steel for a new cross above the entrance area and kitchen equipment.
Our role
